Vocal Coaching
Claire Louise is a qualified singing teacher. She has a PGCE as she began her career teaching in schools. Early in her teaching career, Claire Louise decided to combine her teaching skills with her love of singing. She studied Popular Music Vocals and Musical Theatre, following the London College of Music syllabus. She is qualified to teach up to grade 8 which is equivalent to A level standard so can also assist with additional training for students auditioning for music/theatre college places.
Students of all ages from age 8 upwards are welcome to book singing lessons. Students can work towards their grades in either Popular Music Vocals or in Musical Theatre, or can simply improve for fun or for public performance.
Sometimes students drop in for a few lessons before a big performance or an audition, though most have weekly or fortnightly slots. Students learn through a combination of work on technique (and theory if studying for exams) and through singing songs that they enjoy.
Claire has successfully helped many adult students, some wanting to improve for fun, others, professional performers who want to improve technique or troubleshoot vocal issues such as strain/fatigue after performances.
Claire Louise has an excellent record with students gaining merits or distinctions in exams, some have won awards for the highest mark in their grade in the region. Students are also encouraged to perform publicly, if they wish, to improve their confidence and performance abilities.
Lessons are available in person in the Yarm/Ingleby Barwick/Thornaby area, where Claire Louise is usually based during the week. Lessons are on a mobile basis, Claire Louise travels to you for your convenience.
Remote (online) lessons are also available for students who are further afield.
